Gestalt task
This drawing demonstrates the gestalt principle of continuation. The Hand's holding the pens are positioned in a way that draws the eye around it constantly. The tip of the pen's start at the exact same place on the wrist of the opposite hand and continue accordingly. The tip of the pen draws the eye to the wrist of the other hand, which leads up to the hand holding the other pen which leads our eye to the wrist of the first hand which leads the eye back to the pen (or starting point).
This is also illustrated in how the hands start as mere outlines from the wrist but gain shading as it leads up to the point to which point that part of the hand has been fully illustrated.
This illustration represents proximity of the gestalt principles. The fish and birds are placed closely together so that the negative spaces of the fish make up the shape of the birds and vice versa. It begins at the top with birds flying but as it goes down the birds become closer and less detailed until their negative space starts to create the shape of the fish. As it continues down the birds start to disappear whilw the fish become more detailed and spaced out thus completing the cycle.
